The Kernel Okadaic Acid (DSP) ELISA Test Kit is a competitive enzyme immunoassay for the quantitative analysis of okadaic acid in mussels and water samples. 

Okadaic acid (OA) is one of the diarrheic shellfish poisons (DSP) produced by the dinoflagellate genera Dinophysis and Prorocentrum. There are a number of chemically different toxins associated with DSP. 
Contamination of shellfish with OA has been associated with harmful algal blooms throughout the world. In humans, DSP causes dose-dependent symptoms of diarrhea, nausea and vomiting. The action level established by the FDA for OA is 0.2 ppm. The EU has established a level of 160 µg/kg of OA or its equivalents.
