Schmallenberg Virus Ab. ELISA
Schmallenberg virus is an Orthobunyavirus that was first detected in infected cattle in Germany, in 2011. The virus is transmitted to cattle, sheep and goats via mosquitoes and other midges, making it difficult to control its spread across country borders. Schmallenberg virus, closely related to other pathogens transmitted by vectors, can cause congenital defects, abortions and stillbirths in infected livestock. |
